On the weekend of October 14th and 15th I had
the pleasure to attend the first ever Conflict
Tournament Halifax held at Mount St. Vincent University.
This first year saw a great turn out of Hall of
Heroes participants, even some that came from as
far away as Calgary! In addition to the tournament,
we had exciting attractions for non-tournament
gamers. The highly addictive Mad Grox table was
filled for the entire weekend as gamers of all-ages
built bizarre contraptions, and smashed them against
their foes in a battle royal. As always we featured
the famed Sneak Peek both. This event featured
new Orc and Goblin, Eldar and the new Empire models.
The Conflict store was packed full of Forge World,
Bitz, Conflict Exclusive products and pre-release
Orc and Goblins boxed sets and blisters.
Saturday evening Cory and I hosted a session of
Late Night Gaming. This is a must for any Conflict
go-er as you pit a 1000-point force against an
opponent while making use of some insane rules
such as preliminary bombardment (every turn), Feel
No Pain (for everyone), and Spy vs. Spy! Check
it out next time you’re at a Conflict.
Thanks to Steve, Ian, and Dave from Games Workshop
Halifax, Grey Knight Rob from Moncton, and to Todd
and Mike
for
helping us out. Also, thanks to everyone for coming
out and making this a super-fun event, see you
again next year.
