Conflict Montreal - November, 2006

November 12th marked the last full Conflict event of the season; Montreal! Hobbyists from far and wide ventured down to Place Bonaventure in downtown Montreal to partake in gaming, painting and one challenging tournament. This year saw many local stores and clubs supplying gaming tables and armies for play. Mike Sayegh from Gamers World picked up an award for Best of Show with their modular Warhammer 40,000 trench warfare table. Team Montreal; a local painting club featuring some of Canada’s best painters, was on hand to give painting advice and demonstrate techniques. The Warpstone competition was home to some amazingly painted models. Mattieu Fontaine of Team Montreal led the pack with a slew of trophies, while first time Warpstone participant John P. Papoulakos presented his amazing Black Templar entries. The Hall of Heroes tournament had a great turnout of over 50 players, and the results were very, very close in the end. Players hung around on the Saturday night for some Late Night Gaming. This was probably the busiest LNG event I have seen. It was also the first time I was able to use my new Dwarf army. The highlight of the evening was playing against Chris Dancocks Skaven force. The scenario we played made every unit in the game Frenzied. I managed to have a Dwarf unit cross the table and come return again from overruns. Seven attacks Chris, SEVEN! Thanks to all of our volunteers, Grey Knights, retail staff and hobbyists for coming out and making this a great event.

Cheers,

Kris “7 Attacks” Aubin
