It’s raining little plastic men
At every Games Day there are a variety of events that allow you to build a plastic monstrosity within a set time limit (not to mention the best part, at the end you get to take whatever it is you built, home with you). The most popular of these events is Mad Grox, the crazy 40k-themed racing game. Sadly, I’ve never participated in this event personally because I usually find myself chained to a camera during the madness that is Games Day. That being said, I have witnessed the event many times and beheld the frothing masses building all manner of strange things. It looks like a blast, when else do you really have a chance to build a tank with hands? We’ll leave the sensitive question of exactly why one would want to build a tank with hands unasked for now.

Although Games Day is far away the models for this year’s Mad Grox have already started to arrive (and in true GW fashion our staff have already started to roll around in them like pigs in filth). We plan to make this the biggest, most manic build and play event ever and we’re going to need a lot of sprues.

THIS SITE WILL BE UPDATED HOURLY
First off, the title is a lie.  It is a cleverly crafted lie designed to fool our Events Manager Cory Burns (who will only ever read as far as the title before getting bored and moving on) into believing that I will actually do as he asks and update this site every hour of every day.

All lies aside this site/blog/page/collection-of-pixels has been designed to bring you all the latest, greatest and not-so-greatest information about the biggest and best Games Workshop event of 2008: Games Day!

For those of you that don’t know what Games Day is here is a quick breakdown. Games Day is Games Workshop Canada’s annual gaming extravaganza. The show features gaming on a massive scale with huge games, crazy attractions, contests, special guests, exclusive miniatures and of course the prestigious Golden Demon Painting Competition. If you want to know more you can see some fancy pictures from last year’s event by clicking here.

Last year was great but this year is going to blow it away. There will be a ton of all-new events and attractions designed to make this the best Games Day ever. If you don’t believe me bookmark this blog and keep reading, I’ll be bringing you news from behind the scenes as we prepare for Games Day 2008.

This first post contains a map of our new location. This year we’ve moved the show to Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario. This great new location is even closer to public transportation and has tones of parking to boot!
