Some of you who live in the Toronto area may have noticed that our Scarborough Hobby Centre is currently getting an upgrade. While the Servitors are hard at work we have four skilled hobbyists who are considerably less busy. As the brutal luchador-warlord who runs our Hobby Centres is not in the business of granting free vacations the lads have “volunteered” their time to help with the Games Day preparations.

The boys have been given no light task. They are currently building a scale map of the Old World, entirely out of Mighty Empires tiles! This is no small undertaking and the results thus far are nothing short of amazing. The team spent some time researching the map and finally decided to bribe our trained Hukish into producing a scale map covered in tiny hexagons. This map was then used to lay out all 5000 tiles that make up the final map. The final results will be on display at Games Day for all to see.

THEORY AND POSTURE
Today Vincent returns with some more Masterclass Golden Demon tricks and tips.

Something old, Something new... and hold that posture! Though you may think the Golden Demons is an opportunity to show how good you can paint, Golden Demon is actually an opportunity to better your painting.

The difference is major: displaying your current skill is nice, but it will not get you far; it is in improving your skills that the competition truly shines. No one starts at the top of the game, so don’t feel shy to enter this year so you can better yourself through the event! As cheesy as it sounds, a hard-earned first cut selection will feel more rewarding than winning a gold trophy without feeling the competition.

He leaves cross-shapes on people’s skulls...
Today’s post is a short one but what it lacks in length it makes up for in Space Marine Goodness. This is this year’s Games Day exclusive model, for those of you with an irrational fear of hyperlinks scroll down a tad until you see an enraged Ultramarine with a handsome buzz-cut wielding a rather large hammer.

This model will be available one day only at Games Day 2008. Get one at the show or you will be sad forever. With that I must leave you to battle (yet another) snowstorm hovering over Ontario. Does anyone in Vancouver have space for one slightly used graphics monkey? I don’t eat much and I’ve had all my shots.
