Golden Demon is
the premier miniatures painting competition held
annually at the Games Day. Each year, hopeful entrants
show their creations to the judges and each year
we give away a horde of awards and the much-coveted
Slayer Sword - the highest accolade at the show.
This
Category is open to single Warhammer
miniature that would normally be mounted
on standard bases up to a maximum size
of 25mm x 50mm. Single models normally
mounted on 40mm or 50mm square bases
should be entered in Warhammer Large
model category. Mounted characters fall
into this category as long they are normally
mounted on a base no larger than 25mm
x 50mm.
Entries
in this category consist of units of
Warhammer models with a minimum a 3 models
or the minimum number of models required
by your army list, whichever is greater.
Only models that would normally be mounted
on 20, 25mm or 40mm square bases as well
as cavalry bases will be accepted. Your
entry must be chosen from its appropriate
army list and must include Standard Bearer,
Musician and Champion if available in
its appropriate army list.
This
category is open to any single Warhammer
figure that would normally be mounted
on a 40mm square base or larger. This
includes chariots, ridden monsters, single
monster and war machines with the appropriate
number of crew.

Model
Entries
must be a single Warhammer 40,000 miniature
that would normally be based on a standard
round base no greater than 40mm in diameter.
Individual models mounted on cavalry,
bikes etc should be entered in Large
Model.
Entries
consist of a squad of Warhammer 40,000
models with a minimum unit size of 3
models or the minimum number of models
required by the appropriate army list,
whichever is greater. Only models that
are normally mounted on standard round
bases up to 40 mm in diameter, or squads
mounted on bikes, cavalry etc will be
accepted. The squad must conform to their
entry in the appropriate Codex or Chapter
Approved article.
This
category is open to a single Warhammer
40,000 Vehicle, Walker, or Monstrous
creature. This category also includes
individual characters that are mounted.

Large
Model
Force
or Fellowship
Entries
in this category must be a single Lord
of the Rings model that would normally
be mounted on 25mm round bases or mounted
models on bases of up to 40mm in size.
Models mounted on monstrous mounts should
be entered into the Lord of the Rings
Large model category.
This
category is open to single Lord of the
Rings models that would be mounted on
40mm or 50mm round bases. This also includes
models riding monstrous mounts and siege
equipment with the appropriate number
of crew.
Entries
in this category include five or more
Lord of the Rings models. The force must
be chosen form the appropriate Force
list and can consist entirely of heroes.
The fellowship may also be entered into
this category.

Scene
This
category is open to competitors aged
14 years or under. The entry should
consist of any single Citadel miniature
from any Games Workshop game. The single
model may be mounted on a steed or
bike.
Entries
for this Category may consist of
a Battle Scene from the Lord of the
Rings, Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000
universe including the specialist
games. The display can not be larger
than 12” X 12” X 12”.
The battle scene must consist of
at least two models engaged in combat
and be consistent with Games Workshop’s
imagery.
Large
Scale Model
Open
Category
Entries
for this category consist of any large
single model that does not fit into
any category from the Warhammer and
Warhammer 40,000 universe. This includes
Larger Forge World “Collector
series” figures and busts as
well as Inquisitor models.
The
open category is the ultimate opportunity
to go wild. The only restrictions are
that the entry may not be larger then
18” x 18” x 18” and
must be appropriate to the atmosphere
of the Games Workshop or Lord of the
Ring’s universe.
Staff
Entry
All
staff categories are exclusive
to Games Workshop staff
and are the only categories
that Games Workshop staff
are eligible to enter.
All winners of the staff
category are not eligible
to win the Slayer Sword.

SINGLE MODEL
STAFF
LARGE MODEL
STAFF
SQUAD, REGIMENT OR FORCE
This
category is open to any single
Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or
Lords of the Rings model mounted
on a round base of no greater then
40mm or a rectangle base no larger
then 25m x 50mm.
This
category is for any single Warhammer,
Warhammer 40,000 or Lord of the
Rings figure that is normally mounted
on a base too large for the Staff
single category. This also includes
war machines with the appropriate
crew, chariots, monstrous mounts,
vehicles or any other single large
model.
This
category is for a squad or regiment
of a minimum of 3 models for Warhammer,
Warhammer 40,000 or Lord of the
Rings. The squad or regiment must
also meet the minimum size in their
appropriate Codex, Army book, Chapter
Approved or Chronicle article if
this minimum exceeds 3. Only models
that are normally mounted on nothing
larger then a 40mm round base or
a 40mm square base can be entered.
In the case of Lord of the Rings,
the models must be chosen from
their appropriate forces section
and may if you wish be made up
entirely of heroes. The fellowship
is also an acceptable Lord of the
Rings entry.
SLAYER
SWORD
The winners from each category
excluding staff will be eligible
to win the Slayer Sword. The entry
that is determined the best of all
entries will be crowned as this seasons
single greatest entry in all of Canada
and its owner will be awarded the
coveted Slayer Sword.
GENERAL
RULES AND GUIDELINES
• You
can only enter once in each category
and all entries must be painted
Citadel miniatures, Forge World
or scratch-built models. All converted
and scratch-built models must adhere
to the atmosphere of Warhammer,
Warhammer 40 000 or the Lord of
the Ring’s universe. All
models must be appropriately based.
• Read category descriptions carefully as it is your responsibility to
ensure that your models are entered in the correct category. Any models found
in the incorrect category when being judged will be marked down or disqualified
at the judge’s discretion.
• All entries must be personally handed in on the day and Games Workshop
reserves the right to refuse any entries.
• Once entries are accepted the greatest of care will be taken with your
models, but Games Workshop can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to
any entry. Models are entered at the competitor’s own risk.
• Entry to any of the competitions gives Games Workshop the right to photograph
and publish details of models as we see fit.
• Bear in mind that all judges decisions are final and will not enter into
any correspondence regarding them.
