Well congratulations to me I’m done.
“
Hey Cory can you check to be sure I’m done?”
“
Slayers, check; Warriors, ok; Gyro? Check; Anvil, yup; Thunderers? Check; Quarrelers,
Check; Bolt Thrower? Cool; Thane and Battle standard…. Thane and battle
standard... there is the Thane. Where’s the Battle standard?”
“
OH &%*$....where do I get one of those? What do you mean they are limited
edition and I have to make one?”
So I spent my last two lunch hours constructing a Standard Bearer. I even had
to use green stuff! Now I’m almost done... need to make a flag and paint
the little guy.
So I guess I am a premature celebrator … read that carefully!

Well here we go again...
I have basically finished my army. There are some pictures up. Just have some
small touch ups to complete (which I fear will take weeks!). I have also added
more units and expanded other units to my army as I realize my mistakes in building
the initial list. In the end I’m sure I will end up with 5000 points of
Dwarfs. Did someone mention this army thing is addictive?
With my new army I have been playing in our office Lunch-Hammer league. Here’s
a breakdown of the Dwarf's performance so far…
GAME 1 – Dave Noyle (I now understand why they call him ‘Oily’)
I ask for guidance from The Hukish (ok my mistake) but we proceed to play and
I lost badly to the Wood Elves (Damn that Hail of Doom arrow). Only to find
out later after discussing the game... he had cheated (I never cheated! I’m
just stupid and messed up the rules – Dave) in numerous ways and my help
(Hukish) had assisted him in doing so. Hospitably, Dave agrees to a rematch
with proper authorities present and I still get my <blank> handed to
me. Oh well live and learn!
GAME 2 – The Hukish
Dwarfs V. Dwarfs – The poor Hukish just wasn’t into it… I
took out his organ gun on the first roll of the game and he had no choice but
to march to his death. Unfortunately (for Huk) 1 good roll was his undoing.
GAME 3 – Peter Longstreet
Ogres – My first encounter with multiple wound enemies… this scared
me! With guidance from mad old Fat Gaz I was well in the lead... then he left
me to my merits and I made the wrong choice and got very lucky to win the game.
I have made it through the first round of the lunch-hammer tournament, now
we are on to the playoffs. I hope I don’t have to face Cory Burns, it
may not go well.

Well here we go…. I am Chad Blackmore. I am the
accounting manager at HQ. I am so new to the
company, that this is my very first army.
Why I painted an army…
1 - So that everyone in the company will stop
asking "are you in the Hobby?".
2 So that I can steal Elaine’s shelf in the
display cabinet.
3 So that I can participate in all the ‘shop talk’ during the day.. days are
dreadfully long when you don’t know what anyone is talking about!
4 I needed something to do while its not month end!
Why I chose Dwarfs
1- I was told “fantasy is the only good game” (don't
quote me on that one).
2- They have cool shooty things
3- They never lose (so I am told.. I’m not a good loser)
4- They have cool shooty things
5- Apparently I have been told I represent them Short, Stubby and they have
a
bad attitude!
