Ryan is easily distracted by new and shiny things. (I have been dropping shiny sneak peek models on his desk to keep him occupied) He is also converting the majority of his army which will slow him down. I would put him as one of the safe bets not to get it done. Then again I have been wrong again.

Well… I’ve been hassled to write another blog. To which I reply… “Can’t talk! PAINTING!”

But then I realized that they would continue to bother me about it, and interrupting said painting.

So here it is.

NOW LEAVE ME ALONE AND LET ME PAINT!
(Everyone start picking out your battle forces now – editor)

*Ahem*

Well… here it is. We are sitting at one month left, and all I have left to do is paint. It’s going to be much easier now that I’m not going out on the weekends since I can’t walk… *cough*

On a serious note, I’m sitting here with my entire army put together and primed. I now have set myself a goal of paining 500 points each weekend and I’m leaving my expensive cold one unit until last, that way more models get painted each weekend and I’ll get done.

This weekend, the goal is to paint all 20 Dark Riders and the Sorceress. Next weekend, the goal will be all 4 Bolt Throwers and the Chariots. The third weekend I will finish the Shades and all the Cold Ones (just the mounts).
Leaving just 10 Knights to be painted the last weekend….

Wish me luck!

Ciao!

I haven’t much to say this week… I’m still reeling from my defeat at the hands of a certain Accounts Receivable clerk.

This past weekend I got absolutely NOTHING done... Curse that football game. And now I have to re-think my painting scheme, as I don’t want another beating from said AR clerk. I know she is vastly skilled in the martial arts, and some of her accounts have mysteriously ended up on crutches after running afoul of her.

Please note… I am NOT saying ANYTHING negative or complaining about said person in any way shape or form! She is the most wonderful and kind person I have EVER met EVER.

(Yes… she’s looking over my shoulder as I write this)

Until next week (I hope I’m still walking then)

Ciao!

October 13, 2006

Hello again everyone…

Well almost two weeks have passed and I have assembled most of my army and primed my Cold Ones.

Wow what a difficult job doing such an “easy” conversion. I’m using the cold ones from the newer Lizardmen. The only thing about these models that doesn’t work for me is their claws. I have always envisioned long vicious claws on these terrible beasts and the stock models don’t quite cut it. So… I attempted to attach metal Necron Flayed One claws to the plastic wrists of the Cold Ones. Let me tell you, to do all 14 in my army took 8.5 mind-numbing hours to get them all cleaned and attached properly. I couldn’t pin these parts as they are too small, *sigh* looks like I’m going to have to be VERY gentle painting them.

I have also started the conversions for my Dark Riders. Hopefully the pictures will be up shortly. 5 of these are made, with only 15 more to go. Both my Chariots are assembled and my 2 Bolt Throwers are assembled with 2 more to go

I don’t know what I’m going to do for my Sorceress yet and I’m still contemplating exactly what to do for my Shades….

Hopefully this weekend I can get lots more done.

Ciao!

Arrrg!!! I just got offered REALLY good tickets to a Football game in the U.S. this Sunday! There goes another day that I won’t get to work on any models, as fate seems to have it in for me. (I know, I know… sympathy all over the place for me right now) =P

Hello Everybody, I’m Ryan “Zee” and I’m the Business Systems Analyst for GW Canada.

I’ve decided to enter this painting challenge to FINALLY get a good looking and hopefully competitive Warhammer army completed. I find that deadlines (with severe consequences for not finishing) are the best way for me to get minis painted.

I’m a little behind this race as I was abroad visiting a little country shaped like a boot for two weeks. Ya, I know… rough. I can feel all the sympathy already.

Well, I’ve picked my absolute favorite Warhammer race to paint up… Dark Elves. I’ve loved the evil Elves since reading my first Fantasy book when I was 8 years old, The Crystal Shard. Since I’m a fan of the Drow from the Forgotten Realms, I am going to theme my army on those dark skinned dark Elves. I’ve even got a few ideas for converting up Driders (half spider / half dark elf) from the wonderful new spider rider models that I got in my Battle for Skull Pass set!

I wanted to go with a very fast and hard hitting list, so most of it is mounted.
I know I’m putting most of my eggs in one basket with a HUGE unit of Cold One Knights, but I’ll risk it.

Well… that’s about enough for now… I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me and I’m already behind so… until next week.

Ciao!
