First off I would like to clarify something. I have always been aware, that a
Bretonnian army cannot field a Giant. I really liked the concept of the model,
and let my enthusiasm get the better of me.
I have changed the concept of my Bretonnian army. Instead of painting all the
knights individually, I will be painting squad based colours if you will. My
army is based upon a questing force from the Kingdom of Quenelles. I also play
Wood Elves so it ties the armies together nicely. I’ll be using the traditional
heraldic colours from the Kingdom when painting my army. Except for the Grail
Knights, I’ll probably have to do them up with unique paint schemes. Aside
from that minor set-back all systems are go.

Well week three has come and passed, and I’ve got my head down charging
with the sound of the Errantry horns. I have been cleaning mold lines and painting
copious amount of Knights. (As the number of 56 mounted units needing to be done
has struck home) As we speak I’ve finished my unit of Errant Knights, and
gotten a good start on the Damsel who will ride safely within their ranks. I
have done some base coats on my Lord, but truth be told I hit a temporary snag
and ran out of models to paint.
The biggest challenge I’m
finding with painting this army is how to make each
Knight look like an individual, not re-using a lot
of colours and most importantly not scrambling my
brain in the process. I kind of cheated a little
bit on the Errantry Knights as they are just Knights
from a local area rounded up to defend their Noble.
However I know when it comes to the Knights of the
Realm and *gulp* Grrrrrail Knights, individuality
will be key. So stay tuned for next week when I will
have some pictures to show you.

Welcome back Ladies and Gents to week two of this friendly competition. I must
say with Warhammer Fantasy going in full swing things are really, really exciting.
There is so much cool stuff coming out that I can scarcely concentrate on painting
the beautiful Knights of Bretonnia. I am serious; the Knights of the Realm have
got to be some of the sweetest looking models out there for Fantasy today. Followed
very closely by the Wood Elf defenders of Athel Loren (I am proud to say that
they are one of my favorite armies) and as much as it pains me to say, the range
of Chaos models is top notch.
This brings me to a very BIG point… the Giant. Have you seen this model
up close? I certainly hope so. If you have not seen this model then what are
you waiting for? Better yet pick one up for your army. (Or just get one to display)
The Giant is a gorgeously sculpted model, and the large amount of bits and pieces
that come with it are amazing. I only mention this because I am currently painting
one on the side for my store's upcoming auction and I'm having a blast doing
it. I like it so much I might have to get one to accompany my Knights into battle.
And that brings me full circle to my Knights. As far as my progress goes, I’m
just doing some finishing touches on a nearly completed the unit of Errantry
Knights (like I have said, for 20 points a model don’t discount a mounted
unit that can possibly hit at strength 6!!!). Also I have gotten a good start
on painting the lovely Damsel who will follow these young Knights to battle (And
give them some magic resistance on the way). All and all things are looking up.
So for now I shall bid you adieu, till next week.

Hello folks, the Man the Myth the Legend here... (Todd, also works). This is
my first installment of weekly rants about all things "Paint or Die".
First a bit about myself; my name is Todd Verstegen and I am a Gemini. I was
born in Calgary Alberta, and now I reside in London Ontario. I work at Games
Workshop in White Oaks Mall and have been there for about six months. I am involved
in all the major games GW has to offer, playing Eldar (40K), Wood Elves (Fantasy),
and Easterlings (LOTR). It’s a funny thing because I'm really not that
fond of Elves, it just kinda happens that way I guess. But I digress.
For now I am looking forward to being involved in this painting competition,
and using it as a chance to further my painting skills. To emphasize this, the
army I've chosen is the Valorous Bretonnians. The reason I chose the Bretonnians
is because of the individuality of all the Knights. I knew it would force me
to go above and beyond anything I have ever done. As far as the composition of
my list goes, all Knights are mounted. Lets face it, when you go to a show, you
want to see the main event. With that being said, I am greatly looking forward
to being involved in this competition, and having some fun along the way. Time
to play the game.
