Hello All,

I am Cory Burns, the Commissar for the Hall of Heroes and high guru of events. For those of you who do not know me I paint quite quickly and have a small competitive streak. I am painting up Imperial Fists as they always get the short end of the stick in all of the Games Workshop stories. It is time to bring back honour to the Fists.

Plus painting an entire company, yes a company of marines in yellow has to impress someone. Doesn't it?

Hello Again,

I am Done, Yeah me. Let me tell you, if I knew how busy I was going to be over these last couple of months I would not have agreed to paint a company, especially not one in yellow. That being said I am happy it is done and am looking forward to wreaking havoc on Saturday with the Imperial Fists.

I hope you can all make it to your local bunker to play in the Paint or Die Tournament it is a great chance to beat up on your favourite staff member(or get beaten up by your favourite staff member, in the case of the poor unfortunates who have to play me.)

I hope to see you on the weekend and talk to you soon,

Cheers,

Cory

Land Raider

Hello Again,

Well things are back on track and I am putting the final stages on all of my Rhinos, as well as starting a Land Raider for my command squad. I felt it was beneath them to be travelling in aRhino, so I decided to paint up a Raider. I am planning on doing the Raider's interior, which is why the roof comes off, but we will see about that as time grows short.

There are several participants that are dangerously close to failing and all have been marked with the Warning sign on the Paint or Die homepage. I ask that if you are in the neighbourhood of any of these unlucky individuals to drop by and give them some encouraging words. (I know my words would be less encouraging and more belittling, but then again I am a spiteful person) To all those who are feeling the crunch of the deadline fast approaching I wish you luck and hope you have some vaction time saved up.

Until next time,

Cory

WEEK 11

Almost Finished Rhinos

Things have gone from bad to worse lately, another week with next to nothing done. Luckily after I return from Arena Montreal that is happening this weekend my life will be back to normal. Normal meaning still very busy, but with enough time that I can get those pesky tanks finished. By the way I hate painting vehicles, they are too big and smooth and generally not that fun to paint.

Above are my Rhinos ready to go. I plan on doing the doors and sunroof black, which is why they are not assembled, I also planning on sealing my interiors. (Although if anyone asks, they are painstakingly painted)

Well I guess it is time to roll up my sleeves and try to get back on track before I really fall behind, until next time..(I think I have said this before)

WEEK 10

Yet another unproductive week. I spent the majority of last week down in scenic Windsor for Conquest Windsor, so have done absolutely no painting. With 10 Assault Marines and all the tanks still left to complete, and Arena Montreal taking me away for a good chunk of next week I will be hard pressed to get everything done as early as I had hoped.

Well I guess it is time to roll up my sleeves and try to get back on track before I really fall behind, until next time..

This week was a lot more productive than the last. I have my first assault squad finished as well as my command squad. The command squad is 8 models, which will make it to a total of 10 when you add the Chaplain and the Commander.

With these models done that leaves me only 10 Assault Marines to paint. (and 9 tanks, but they do not really count.)

Around the office there has been some progress. Dave Noyle and Fat Gaz and churning through their respective armies and both will be done shortly. The illustrious Hukish with his army of legs seems to be making little to no progress. He states they are all at home, so I am sure if you were to visit his house there would be hundreds of painted Eldar just waiting for battle.

By far and away the person is best shape is Ryan Z. I would report what he has done, but that would require him to have something done.

Until next week,

Cory

Another week, and the least productive one yet.

Hello Again,

I have finished my 1700 point army. That is right 81 Yellow Marines are done and ready for battle. I have nothing to say about the office this week because everyone has huge amounts of progress/ Take a quick peek at the rest of the HQ to see what they have been up to.

My goal now is to have the 3000 points ready for the Gryphon Games Apocalypse Tournament on November 10th and 11th. This event sounds like a great chance to put my boys in Yellow to the test.

Until next week

Hello Again,

Another week has gone by and I have more pictures of half done models. This week it is all of the remaining Tactical Marines. Next week I will put up my finished 1700 point army, 80 Marines and a Commander.

To sum up the progress of the rest of the office. No painting is being done. So I guess a lot of Baneblades are going to be sent out to the rest of the competitors. Oh well.

Cheers,

Cory

Hello All,

I have been seriously distracted by new shiny things I want to put my brush to, so I have kicked the Imperial Fists into overdrive. Above are all 20 of my Devastators eagerly awaiting shoulder pads and guns. Since the pads and guns have a lot of black I have been priming them seperately with Chaos Black to save me time (The rest of the models are primed in white as you can see by the missle launchers and bases)

It is at this point that I would be commenting on the work down by the rest of the HQ staff, but as there is none being done I will not bother. That being said, I would buy your Bane Blades now Once all the HQ guys that are going to fail do, I do not think there will be many left in the country.

Thanks in advance for the Baneblade Squadrons guys,

Cory

WEEK 4

Hello Again,

Well, this week I have done some painting, but really not very much. I spent the weekend at the North Bay Doubles Tournament. This was Games Workshop's first showcase event and the coverage will be online shortly. This is a great tournament run by Rob Steele our Grey Knight for Northern Ontario in conjunction with North Bay Games and Hobbies. Together they put on a great show so stay tuned for details.

Next week I should have 10 more Tactical Marines finished as well as 10 Devastators. Which is miles ahead of the rest of the marketing boys. The illustrious Hukish has finnaly put together some models and spray them black. I hope for his sake he is doing the Eldar Black Knights as that is the only hope he has of finishing. Dave Noyle has tons of painting done, but it is all at home. I can't wait till he brings in his Tau and tries to pass them off as Chaos Marines.

Well until next time, Happy Painting

Cory

Hello All,

Another week is down and I am a little upset with what I managed to get done. I am unfortuantely, 4 Marines short of my goal of 40. On another note, I decided to base the first 30 Marines rather than show them to you with their wonderful white primed bases. The 30Marines above are all done except for clean up (I have to tidy up all the black, and a little yellow.)

The next squad of ten will be done early next week, as I am off to the North Bay Doubles Tournament on the weekend so will not be doing much painting. A lot of gaming, but no painting.

Until next week I will see you all and glady report on all the "not" painting taking place in the Head Office. You know who you are.

Cheers,

Cory

WEEK 2

Hello Again,

It is a couple of weeks into the painting bet and everything is going well so far. By next week I should have over 40 marines done. Well, they will not be based so I guess I will have 40 marines mostly done. Around the office very little painting seems to be getting done. The illustrious Hukish and Dave "Oily" Noyle have combined to accomplish less than nothing. Jay has spent the last two weeks submitting the same picture of 10 Elysians. Fat Gaz meanwhile, has managed to put a Gothic Ship on a pole. How this relates to painting a Warhammer 40,000 army remains a mystery.
On a completely different topic there is the fantastic Justin Doyle who has managed to prime several marines and paint the interior of two Rhinos. Sorry he has managed to "paint" several marines, but you look at the pictures and see if it looks like anything more than a primed marine with a painted eagle. Although the rhino interiors do look great.

Until next week,
Cory

Space Marine Company
Tactical Squad Sprues
My only nearly finished Marine

Hello,

Well it has been over a week and very little has been done.   I have twenty guys assembled, base coated, inked and on their way to being yellow.  I really only assemble what I plan on painting right away, I find nothing more discouraging then having hundreds of assembled models waiting to be painted.  Although to tell you the truth every time I look at the giant pile of sprues that come in a Space Marine Company, I feel a mix of excitement and dread.

Cheers,

Cory
