Hey,
My name is Darrell Galbraith Jr. and I'm a part timer at GW London, ON. I've been in the hobby for over 12 years now and am best known in London for my extensively converted Word Bearers army.
Woo hoo! I managed to finish my Paint or Die army with a week to spare. I've added a few more details to my vehicles and to the squads but you'll have to come to the Paint or Die tournament at the Oakville Battle Bunker on December 1st to see them. While my Paint or Die army is not up to my usual standard, it still looks fairly good on the table top. PoD was a great experience, as it shows that you can get a decent army painted in no time (especially in my case as I did the bulk of my painting in the last 30 days!). My picture shows the completed army, but unfortunately the quality is a bit lacking - you try to take a picture with two kittens running around your feet! I look forward to being able to field my army of yellow doom in the PoD tourney and to receiving my Baneblades from those of you that finished. Just send them to the Games-Workshop store in London!

Phew, making some progress now and with just over a week or so to go, I think I'll make it. As of this writing I have only five devastators and a single land speeder to complete. I should be able to finish everything and with the time left over I'll be able to add a couple of extra details to my razorbacks, whirlwinds and to the bases of my army. Additionally I'm aspiring to construct a display board for the Paint or Die tournament at the Oakville Battle Bunker on December 1st. I hope to see everyone else there . . . and they'd better have my Baneblades.
Also, for those of you looking closely at the pictures . . . yes, that is a fist on the antenna of my land speeder.

WEEK 11
Phew! I'm making some good headway in terms of getting the Imperial Fists painted. Luckily my trusty tank brush quickly obliterated the horrid lemon fresh colour and now my Fists are looking suitably battle worn. As of this writing I've finished squads Alpha and Gamma, along with Commander Cadmus (shown with squad Alpha). As well I've managed to complete all four razorbacks along with my two whirlwinds and two scout squads.
It looks like I may actually finish my army on time. I have only two more marine squads and two more land speeders to paint up. To further motivate myself I'll be heading to the Paint or Die tournament at the Oakville bunker. Hmmm, I wonder if I'll have time to construct a display base . . .

Only a month left to go? Emperor save me! I will have to humbly request that the next time I participate in paint or die, if I choose yellow as my main colour that the black ships come to take me away.
I have spent the majority of my time painting 2 baneblades and numerous models for my Word Bearers army. I cannot deny the word of Lorgar, however the immenent threat of buying over $8000 in baneblades has forced me to turn from the Chaos gods temporarily and get to work on my Imperial Fists.
I have painted all of the marines about 3 times now trying to find a yellow scheme that I am happy with. With only a month to go however it's foundation paints to the rescue. I've managed to basecoat the entire army and now I'm working on fiddly bitz like re-blacking certain areas after uber amounts of drybrushing. In the next week or so I should have all of the tanks finished and then I can finish my scouts. Following that I will go back to the marine squads and tone down the lemon-freshness of their yellow to something more suitably subtle. Sigh, if there wasn't so many distractions like my chaos army! Curses how CHAOS COMPELS ME! Ahem, Yes as I was saying. The painting will continue and I should finish on time.
If I am so blessed by the dark gods . . . I mean the Emperor I will finish with enough time to add some freehand details to the tanks and some squad markings on the marines. Then I will be able to relax by working on my chaos hellhammer. Cheers and good luck to all of the rest of you (but not too much luck, Lorgar demands that my Word Bearers field multiple Baneblades).
