Techno-zombies

Descended from the unfortunate denizens of Itoh VI Techno-Zombies are twisted abominations that can no longer be conceived of as human. Victims of an unknown techno-virus these mindless savages will attack anything that moves, tearing their prey apart with their vicious flesh spawned weaponry.

The activities of these creatures has disrupted the efforts of both the Black Templars and Necrons fighting on the desert world of Itoh VI. What bearing they have on the overall outcome of the war is yet to be seen.

Building Techno-zombies

One of the foes that the Imperial forces will have to face are horribly mutated Techno-zombies (that’s right, we went there). These dangerous creatures appear to be Imperial citizens that have been struck down with a mysterious virus. The effects of the virus seem to render the once humane and loyal workers into mindless, murderous pack animals, bent only on hunting down their prey. Even more bizarre is that these Techno-zombies have crudley attached industrial machinery and weapons directly into their decaying flesh.

These Tecnho-zombies are very easy and fun to make. With the huge range of bits available, the possiblities are limitless to how you can construct futuristic, chainsaw wielding zombies. Our techno zombies have been made using Zombies, Necrons, and Catachan sprues, with the addition of some metal Servitor arms and Necromunda Pit Slave arms.

Painting Techno-zombies

Start your zombies with a Black basecoat.

Drybrush the entire miniature Tin Bitz, then Brazen Brass and finally Shining Gold
Pick out flesh areas in Rotting Flesh. Wash flesh with a thinned mix of Scaly Green, Dark Flesh and Rotting Flesh.

Paint major elements of jumpsuit Dark Flesh. Highlight with Blazing Orange and Fiery Orange. For other articles of clothing, choose muted colours such as Fortress Grey or Snakebite Leather. Paint wounds, sores, entrails and various gory bits with thinned Scaly Green.

For desert sand bases, Glue Modelling Snow Flock (part# 99229999059) to the base and let it dry. Paint the snow Snakebite Leather. Highlight with Bleached Bone. The finer grain Snow Flock will look more like sand when painted than the traditional Modelling Sand would.

Fielding Techno-zombies in games of Warhammer 40,000

These depraved beasts are all that remain of those who settled Itoh VI. Armed with biomechanical implements spawned by the deadly plague these creatures will set upon any unfortunate enough to cross their path.

Weapons: Techno-Zombies are armed with a variety of deadly whirling, buzzing implements of death. Close combat attacks from Techno-Zombies count as Rending attacks.

Options: One in every four Techno-Zombies will be armed with a Flamer.

Bionics: All Techno-Zombies count as having Bionics as in Codex: Space Marines.

Roving Bands: To determine how many Techno-Zombies will take part in a battle roll 2D6. When the Techno-Zombies arrive the number of models rolled will be present.
Hunger for the living: Techno-Zombies are more a terrain hazard then a unit. See their game rules on the Itoh VI webpage.
