The campaign kicks off February 2, 2006, but you can spend some time between now and then readying your forces for the coming battle. For the latest updates visit the Wrath of the Righteous news page.

FIND A MARSHAL
If you want to play in the campaign you will need to locate a Marshal in your area. A Marshal is a person who is responsible for keeping track of the battles being played in your area and reporting them to the Campaign organizers. Every Games Workshop Hobby Centre has a Marshal, they can also be found at participating Rogue Trader independent retailers, Regiments of Renown, and through the Grey Knights. Can’t find a Marshal in your area? Click here to view the Marshal list.

After you have located a Marshal you will need to declare your allegiance. You can either join the valorous forces of the Crusaders or fight against the Imperium by joining the Antagonists. All of the armies in the Warhammer 40,000 universe belong to one of these two factions. Here is a breakdown of the two sides…

  • Space Marines (all)
  • Imperial Guard
  • Witch Hunters
  • Daemon Hunters

  • Tau
  • Tyranids
  • Orks
  • Necrons

START PLANNING
Now that you have decided whom you are going to fight for, you can gather your forces and devise a battle plan. The campaign will be decided over five unique battle zones, which correspond with the ‘ordeals’ mentioned above. Each battle fought over the course of the campaign will be reported at one of these zones. The outcome of that battle will sway the control of the corresponding zone in favour of the victorious faction. Each battle zone will begin at an even 50% control for both factions. At the end of the campaign each battle zone will be worth one ‘point’ to the controlling faction, whichever side has the most ‘points’ at the end of the campaign wins. Some factions even receive bonuses when fighting at corresponding zones. The fighting itself will be tracked on this website. Once the campaign has begun you can get results and updates here.

KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE
Every week of the campaign a ‘critical operation’ will take place. The ‘critical operation’ will only be open for a brief period of time but will have a great impact on the outcome of the campaign. Every ‘critical operation’ will a have a special scenario tied to it, to take part simply play the special scenario and report the result to your Marshal. Every ‘critical operation’ will affect the control of one of the five battle zones. The outcome of the ‘critical operation’ will swing control 10% in favour of the victorious faction.

Week to week throughout the campaign the online map will feature an ‘engagement meter’ that determines the intensity of the overall conflict. At the onset the campaign the ‘engagement meter’ will be set to low, and players should play Combat Patrol missions while the two forces begin to bring their forces to bear. As the weeks roll by the ‘engagement meter’ will intensify, culminating, as all out war breaks loose.

There you have it, so sons of the Emperor, steel your courage and fear not the trials ahead!
