My
army is mostly inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down,
I really love the idea of well trained light infantry
who are able to move and respond quickly and backed
up with some really cool elite units. The only vehicles
in my 1700 point force are three Sentinels and a Valkyrie
to transport my souped up Storm Troopers into battle,
everything else is made up of well trained soldiers
armed
with a handful special and heavy weapons, and some
cool kit.
The Regiment hail from Vectis, a small forested and
sparsely populated moon that orbits the hive world
Solentus in
the Segmentum Obscurus. In the past, the inhabitants
of Vectis were forced to patrol their surroundings
for raiding parties bent on stealing the moon’s
precious resources. These skills have been passed on
to the present
population and have transformed into a highly trained,
flexible and rapidly deployable light infantry force.
Today the 8th Vectis Rangers are on constant alert
and are frequently called on to respond to aggression
throughout
the sector in support of other Imperial Guard regiments.
